Terms and Conditions

  1. The promoter of this competition is NZCE Trustees Limited (“Pure Advantage”).
  2. The competition is open to New Zealand residents only.
  3. Entrants must be aged between 19 and 27 (inclusive) on February 1, 2012.
  4. Entrants must be resident in New Zealand, and must not be enrolled in secondary school in 2012.
  5. You may only enter once. Entries are accepted from Individuals only (not teams).
  6. Videos must address the issue of green growth in NZ.
  7. Videos must be no more than two minutes and 10 seconds in duration (2.10).
  8. If using any music, written permission to use the music must be obtained (this includes non-licensed and copyright-free music. Please download and complete a Music Permission Form if required, and email your completed form to info@pureadvantage.org
  9. If using video other people’s footage or photographs in your video, permission to use the footage or photographs must be obtained. Please download and complete a Supplied Material Permission Form if required, and email your completed form to info@pureadvantage.org
  10. You must have the right to record the image of any person (actor, presenter, interviewee, member of the public) used in your short film. Please download and complete a Appearance Release Permission Form if required, and email your completed form to info@pureadvantage.org. This form must be signed by a legal guardian for persons under 18.
  11. No videos that are “objectionable” will be considered. According to law, a video is rated objectionable if it “describes, depicts, expresses, or otherwise deals with matters such as sex, horror, crime cruelty, or violence in such a manner that the availability of the publication is likely to be injurious to the public good”.
  12. Video entries must be uploaded to YouTube (www.youtube.com) in order to qualify.
  13. Videos must adhere to YouTube terms and conditions.
  14. Each entry must be registered on the official online entry form on the competition website.
  15. The video-maker gives Pure Advantage the unlimited right to use all or any part of the recordings as they may be edited at their discretion in relation to Pure Advantage “Exhibition to Antarctica” Competition 2011, for showing throughout the world, on television, the Internet, on DVD and in/on any present or future media, free and without restriction or obligation to pay any royalty.
  16. Entries may be submitted no later than midday September 12, 2011.
  17. Five (5) finalists will be selected by public vote on the website received prior to midday September 12 2011.
  18. Votes must be cast according to the voting process outlined on the website. This process includes the submission and verification of a unique email address for each voter. No other form of vote will be accepted.
  19. Votes must be cast by living people. One person may vote for as many entries as they like, but may only vote for each entry once.
  20. Pure Advantage reserves the right to audit votes in order to verify that clauses 18 and 19 have been met.
  21. Pure Advantage reserves the right to disqualify any entry for any reasonable reason, including but not limited to suspicion of vote manipulation.
  22. A further five (5) finalists will be selected by a panel of judges assigned by Pure Advantage. The judges’ decision is final.
  23. All ten (10) finalists must make themselves available on September 20, and 21 for a finalist’s interview. Interviews will be conducted by Robert Swan or a representative of the 2041 Inspire Antarctica Expedition either in person or via video conference.
  24. Robert Swan or a representative of the 2041 Inspire Antarctica Expedition will select the winner. Their decision is final.
  25. The Winner will be notified by email and will be publicly announced on September 26, 2011. Where attempts to contact the winner fail, another winner will be selected in accordance with clause 24.
  26. The Winner must be available to travel to Antarctica between the dates, February 14 and March 6 2012 and must meet any physical and other requirements set by the 2041 Inspire Antarctica Expedition.
  27. The Winner must make themselves available for all reasonable public appearances, media interviews and other public relations activities associated with the competition, or with the 2041 Expedition to Antarctica, or with Pure Advantage.
  28. As the competition is dependent on the 2041 Inspire Antarctica Expedition, Pure Advantage reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition rules at any time without prior notice. Pure advantage reserves the right to substitute the prize. Any amendment to the rules or the prize will be posted on our website.
  29. By entering the competition you agree to release, discharge, and hold harmless Pure Advantage, the 2041 Inspire Antarctica Expedition and their employees from any claims, losses, and damages arising out of your participation in this competition or any competition-related activities.
